Greenie Sprout Is Coming to Bok Tower Gardens: Learn To Grow with Greenie on November 21
Something special is growing at Bok Tower Gardens this fall. On Saturday, November 21, 2026, Ferpher Farms is bringing Greenie Sprout and the Greenieverse to the Alexander Discovery Center for Learn To Grow with Greenie, a hands-on microgreens workshop designed especially for children ages 4 to 8 with adult participation.
This is not a sit-still gardening lecture. Children will grow, move, listen, explore and plant while learning what microgreens are, how seeds wake up, what young plants need and how small healthy choices can become big wins.
What young growers will do
The workshop combines storytelling, movement, music, simple garden science, a growing demonstration and interactive seed planting. The experience is positive, playful and beginner-friendly, with no food shaming and no pressure to taste. The goal is to help children become more curious about real food, more excited about gardening and proud of growing something themselves.
Every registered child takes a growing kit home
Each registered child receives a take-home microgreens growing kit so the adventure continues after the class. The kit includes grow trays, growing medium, microgreens seeds, a spray bottle, seed spreader, growing brochure, the Learn To Grow with Greenie Activity and Coloring Book and a free digital download of the Tiny Greens Power Starter Pack.
Event details
Saturday, November 21, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Alexander Discovery Center at Bok Tower Gardens, 1151 Tower Boulevard in Lake Wales, Florida.
The workshop is for children ages 4 to 8 with adult participation. Registration is $42.50 for Bok Tower Gardens members and $60 for non-members. Non-member pricing includes admission for the day. Registration is charged per child and includes all materials. Each registered child must be accompanied by an adult. An accompanying adult may attend at no additional cost when assisting the child and not receiving a separate take-home kit.

At Ferpher Farms, we have seen how different the conversation around healthy food becomes when children get to touch it, plant it, watch it grow and make discoveries for themselves. Greenie Sprout was created to make those first experiences feel fun and memorable, not forced.
We are excited to bring that experience to Bok Tower Gardens in our own Lake Wales community and give families a workshop that does not end when the class does. The tray children plant and the kit they take home give them something real to care for, observe and eventually harvest.
